Let It Snow...

AH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Christmas is like...6 days away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haha, is anyone ever ready for Christmas?  December is always so busy.  We have officially gotten all of our Christmas decorations up except for the ornaments on the tree.  It's awfully tough to get the entire family assembled in one place at one time a week from Christmas day, lolz.  I did a lot of shopping a couple days ago and got some gifts for family members.  It seems like the older people get, the harder it is to get gifts for them!  Quality technology is super expensive in our present culture...its annoying :P

Oh, we have a stocking for the dogs so I have to get presents for them too.  Shhh...I got pig ear strips to put in their stocking and they are going to go crazy on Christmas morning.  FYI - my dog can smell food a mile away, true statement...long story.  Also, Chris, Mary, and I have been debating about who's room we should camp out in this year and how late we should let the parents sleep in before we we wake them up (we'll probably like blast Tobymac throughout the house or something).

You have probably heard this a zillion times already but please pray for Amy Calderone!!!  Amy was always reaching out to me when I was in my freshman year of high-school and right now she's on life-support in the hospital because her her lungs and kidneys have shut down.  I believe that God still works miracles today and right now, Amy needs a Christmas miracle!!!  It says in the Bible that where two or more people are gathered in God's name, there he is also in the midst of them.  So pray!!!  We serve a mighty God!!!

Ok, I have to go now because I have a Christmas caroling party at the Glab's this evening.  I also played violin at church this morning before going to the second service so I'm exhausted and need to get some sleep.  Adios!

My Music Tangent

Violins are sooooo cool.  I had two...no three, violin concerts this week.  One was the winter concert (which I'm sure you guys all went to but didn't see me because my ensemble was stuck in the first concert with the little kids...sigh.)

The second one was at the Senior Saints Luncheon and we played for all the older people there.  We were invited to lunch before we gave our performance.  They had these awesome tuna sandwiches which totally made my day.  Then Sierra, Julia, and I went to practice violin in the bathroom before the performance started.  It's fun to do that because it echoes so much in there :P

The third concert was at Lakeforest Mall and I know some of you might be thinking...LUCKY!!!  IT WOULD BE SO MUCH FUN TO PLAY VIOLIN AT THE MALL!!!  Actually it is...if you don't mind getting sore feet from standing in front of fake snow, tiny Christmas trees, and giant teddy bears for family pictures (the moms really take advantage of mall concerts).  TIP THE SCALE!  On the other hand, we get to play Christmas music for the people at the mall and for God's glory.  We also get to eat candy or go to Starbucks or some such reward-ful stuff like that after the performance.  So it really is QUITE fun.

Now I'm like exhausted but happy because CHRISTMAS BREAK IS HERE AND I CAN'T WAIT TO HANG OUT WITH MY FRIENDS AND GO CHRISTMAS SHOPPING AND SING ABOUT THE SAVIOR'S BIRTH!!!

So what are you guys doing for Christmas??? (comment prompter, hint, hint)
:)  :P  :D

Thanksgiving Break Update

Oh my heavens, I haven't posted in like...FOREVER!!!

Haha, oh well.  First, I hope your guys thanksgiving break went well.  My cousins, Aunt Marie, Uncle Joseph, Peter, Elizabeth, and Rachel, came over from Ohio for thanksgiving.  It's always so much fun when they come over because we get to play with fire and sing about chocolate milk at the top of our lungs around the backyard campire at 9:30 at night.  Peter always brings his guitar for special effect.

The guys played halo and us girls went shopping for around 6 hours on Black Friday.  It was awesome.  We went to TJ-Max, then Khols, then home, then out again to Macy's, then to Marshall's, then to Bruster's (because everybody likes ice cream in November), then to starbucks (because it rocks).  Then we went to Rack Room Shoes on Saturday morning and bought some fuzzy boots for me and Rachel.

We also watched a ton of movies including "Hoodwinked," "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," and "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix."  If you've ever seen hoodwinked before you know that Twitchy + Coffee = Epicness, Craziness, and Disaster combined.

Also, I thought I had geography homework over thanksgiving break.  My online geography class was at 8:00 this morning so I ended up doing double homework last night.  Which was awesome because now I don't have any homework this week.  What I'm thinking is that God knew I had 3 violin concerts this week, so he took away some of my schoolwork load to give me an easier time.  It so amazing how much God cares for us despite our sinfulness!

See you guys at the Starfield Concert tonight!!!

New Kitchen Floor!!!

Hey Guys!
I haven't posted in forever and this was the first chance I got, so yeah.  Anyway, I have pictures of our new kitchen floor!  It's so exciting!  But...as everybody knows...you can't appreciated the new unless you see the old first.

So here they are!  ENJOY!!!

This is the old tile.

This was how the kitchen looked with the old tile.
It was quite ugly and very hard to clean.  Bleh.
Anyway, my mom decided that she had put up with it for too long.

So we had some workers come and take it out.
My dad put the old, ripped up flooring in the back of the truck.

I put some out on the driveway so you guys could admire it :P
Yes, it was very ugly.

THEN...WE GOT THE NEW TILE!!!
I personally, think that the color is fabulous.
My mom has such good taste.

And this is how the kitchen looks with the new tile in!
It makes the kitchen look so much more cheery!

It's so beautiful!!!

The new tile ended up looking awesome against the trim and walls!
It also goes well with the warm-colored theme of the house.

It's so exciting!!!
What do you guys think of the new flooring?
Lots of comments please!

Jumbled Thoughts

Happy November!!!
I'm just one week closer to thanksgiving break!  I had a lot of tests this week...bleh...and I need to work on 4-H stuff.  I don't have a lot of time for all the things I have to do.  However, I should be making time for God.  I haven't been, which I why I just remembered that I forgot to have my bible time this morning.  I NEED GOD!!!!!  There isn't another sentence that has changed my life so radically :D

I have a love-hate relationship with ice cream.  It is not fun :-/

So I have to go and do my bible time now
bye!

Too Many Little Kids!!!

   Oh my goodness.

The Harvest Party went pretty well...but there were so many little kids!!!  And too much candy!!!  I ate like nothing and its too bad I didn't save any for when would actually need some (like over a geometry test late at night).

My group was red and we managed a game called The Ping-Pong Toss in the Sea Creatures room.  Basically, you had to try and toss ping pong balls into little glass jars with ridged edges.  Apparently, it was not so basic as it looked.  THE GAME WAS SO RIGGED!!!  It was like impossible and the balls kept on bouncing off of the rims of the jars.  I couldn't do it.  Kendel couldn't do it.  Nick was like obsessing over the fact that he couldn't do it (he gave up after a while).  Then these little kids just came in and like got 2 or 3 in a row!  So yeah...the game was cool but the only disadvantage was that we had to go crawling between jars and seashells to pick up all the balls.  My knees started protesting after about 2 hours.  I feel so old, humpgrherfkdu.

Comments are appreciated :P

Two Seriously Cool Books

Hello everyone!
And now...to live up to my post title.

     Eh...eh...emmm.

Seriously Cool Book 1: THE BIBLE!!!

Last night I wasn't feeling well because I had eaten ice cream that afternoon, which triggered my milk allergy (oh, the price of having fun).  As a result, I wasn't able to go to church the next morning.  Nevertheless, I felt like I had to honor God on Sunday morning.  So I had an extensive Bible time.  I read Matthew 23-24, but focused more on chapter 24 because I think there was something God wanted to say to me.  Matthew 24 was about the signs of the END OF THE AGE and the COMING OF THE SON OF MAN.  In verses 5-12, Jesus tells us the signs of the end of the age.  He speaks of people who will say that they are the the Christ.  He speaks of wars, famines, earthquakes, hatred, betrayal, false prophets, and the love of many people becoming fake and cold.  After reading this, I thought...how different is this picture from the way the world lives now???  Personally, that was a very frightening question for me.  Then, in verses 29-31, Jesus talks about the coming of the Son of Man.  He says:

"Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.  Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory."

Lastly, Jesus talks about how no one knows the day and hour of Jesus's coming.  We should live our lives as if Jesus is coming back this very moment!  Who knows?  The angels might blow their trumpets announcing Jesus's return before I finish writing this post!

     Seriously Cool Book 2: BRISINGR!!!

WARNING: MAJOR SPOILER...IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THIS BOOK...STOP RIGHT HERE AND DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER.

I just finished Brisingr this afternoon!!!  As I neared the last pages I thought about all that had happened.  Katrina was rescued and the Ra'zac are dead!  Happiness.  Sloan...I won't even go there.  Eragon and Saphira are really becoming something now.  I was impressed at the tremendous amount of growth in both dragon and Rider.  It was also very wise of Eragon to start acting like a man and stop day-dreaming about Arya.  Roran and Katrina got married!  Yay!  Roran is such a courageous guy (despite his crazy battle plans).  Orik and Hvedra got married, and Orik is now the new dwarf king!  Yay!  They're bound to bring some sense into that race of suspicious, cowardly, quarrelsome short-peeps.  Brom is Eragon's father???  Ha.  I should've guessed.  It was so obvious the whole time.  Now...the thing about dragon's heart of hearts was just a stroke of pure genius on the part of the author.  It's also JUST like Galbatorix to steal the souls of dragons and make them serve him!!! Grrrr!!!  Ok, I was like seriously freaking out when the insane magicians were about to bring a new Shade to life.  It was nice of Arya to save the day.  Glaedr and Oromis are DEAD!!!  No!!!  It's not fair...but Glaedr will live on :D

     Then...I reached the end of book...the end...the very end...and I saw...

HERE ENDS THE THIRD BOOK OF THE INHERITANCE CYCLE.  THE STORY WILL CONTINUE AND CONCLUDE IN BOOK FOUR.

I don't know about you guys but...I WASN'T TOLD ABOUT THIS!!!  A FOURTH BOOK.  Humph.  I knew they couldn't end such a fabulous story in 748 pages.

Suzuki Book 4!!!

Whoo hoo!!!  I started...like literally JUST STARTED...Suzuki Violin Book 4!!!  I am learning my first Concerto!  I'm so excited!  When I was younger, I played piano for two-and-a-half years before I started violin.  I have currently been playing violin for almost 2 years now and I love it!  Haha, I really look up to people who have been playing violin since they were 5, lolz.   Anyway, the violin is so incredibly awesome for a number of reasons:

1) It's portable, and the cases are really pretty :D

2) It can be manually tuned and develops your ear for music (which I personally view as an amazing skill)

3) You can be expressive while playing the violin in a way you can't on other instruments

On the other hand...my teacher just added a lot, and I mean a lot, of shifting into my already difficult etude peice.  Etude.  Etude.  ETUDE.  Sounds omninous doesn't it?  They are pretty annoying, but they build character!  Just like eating your vegetables or walking the dog in the rain builds character...but not in the same way.  Haha!  But my new Concerto balances things out.  Yep, well that's about the only REALLY awesome thing going on in my life right now (besides my obession with Jesus Christ) :D :D :D

I Am With You Always...

Hey guys,
Last night I learned something from my dad that really struck me.  We don't walk the Christian life alone!!!    God is ALWAYS with us and wants to help us.  Now...God is always with us?  That's like so obvious...and yet it isn't...  Our hearts are very deceitful and will jump at any chance to twist our vision of Jesus Christ.  Satan wants us to believe that we can run our lives and get through any trials by ourselves.  However, God gives us those trials to get us to trust in him!  It doesn't depend on us.  God is ALWAYS there and he wants to carry us! We just need to have faith :D
Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them.  And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted.  And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Farther and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.  And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

IN DEBT???  JESUS SAVES!!!

Dead But Hyper

Hi everyone,
Today, I took the PSAT and it was fun.

Well, not really.  Before the test started, we discovered this spider in the girl's bathroom and we thought it was alive so we all like freaked out.  Then I collectimavated myself and whizzed through sections 1 and 2 on the test.  The critical reading was annoying and I skipped one or two problems in the math section because the level of geometry was just beyond me...humph.  Then we took a 5 minute break and went to use the bathroom again.  And saw the spider again.  And Carrie stepped on it.  Yay Carrie!!!  Then we slugged through section 3 (more critical reading), section 4 (more math), and section 5 (grammar).  The test wasn't as long as I'd thought it be but twas a bit nerve-wracking in the beginning.  Luckily God was with me and I knew he'd take care of me.  Yay God!!!

Now, as you might have guessed I wouldn't have written all this if I were brain dead from the PSAT.  Actually, I am brain dead....I'm brain dead and physically hyper.  I didn't even know that was possible!!!  But it is...so yeah.  Anyway I am hyper because we started an awesome move sequence in dance class to the song, BREAKDOWN by Group1crew.  Best song EVER :D

Then I went home and did homework (not surprising).  At about 9:30 pm, I made myself a bowl of popcorn, poured myself some juice, and settled down in my beanbag chair with Brisingr!!!  Yay!!!  Roran and Katrina are soooo sweet!  Eragon is improving (although he can be an idiot at times), Saphira is just awesome, Murtagh has issues, Thorn is non-awesome, Arya is a creature of incredible design, Nausada is dangerously clever, and Galbatorix...will epically fail very soon...I'm sure of it.  I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!

I am also tired.
Pawz and Bee Happy!
And don't forget to comment!

Story Time!!!

Hello again everyone,

Today, I am feeling quite tired because every morning this week I woke up and my homework was there...waiting for me.  For some reason, I am unusually aware of my daily loads and I often dwell on the exhaustion that results from it.

As I was writing this post, I thought about the e-mail Carrie sent me about interpreting trials as God's sovereign plan for your life and I think I'm doing the exact opposite.  I'm trudging through my daily trials by myself in order to please God.  What God really wants is for me to trust that my trials are part of his sovereign plan and let Him carry me through.  Even with this realization, I find it hard to trust God and let Him carry me because my pride is so great.  Please pray that when I get weary of doing homework day after day, I would ask God for strength instead of depending on myself.  Thanks for sending that e-mail Carrie!  I really do not deserve such awesome friends :D  I love you sooo much!!! :D

     AND NOW...for the story...

About a month ago I was on the internet on Petfinder looking up adoptable dogs.  Anyway, I found these two absolutely adorable white, sheltie/border collie mixes named Dusty and Henry.  I fell in love with them instantly and decided to get more information about them.  Apparently they were brothers from a litter that had contracted parvovirus, of which they were the only survivors.  At 4 months of age, they were found by an animal shelter and nursed back to health.  The next day I called up Dusty and Henry's foster parents and discovered that Dusty had been adopted already.  That only left Henry, but I knew my mom would never allow me to adopt a third dog.  So with disappointment, I put Henry out of my mind and went on with my life.

Today, I was looking through my pictures and found one of Henry.  So I went on the internet determined to find the young puppy that I had wanted to adopt so badly.  Sadly, no links came up that matched a white, sheltie/border collie mix named Henry.  I looked and looked but couldn't find him.

Here's the picture I have of Henry:

Movie of the Month

Happy October Everyone!

Many Thanks to everyone who took a couple seconds out of their lives to vote on my poll.  Jaime Sullivan and Landon Carter ended up winning (I'm seriously not surprised and whoever has seen them shouldn't be surprised either).  For the people who didn't know who Jaime Sullivan and Landon Carter are.....they starred in "A Walk to Remember" based on the fantastic novel by Nicholas Sparks.

In "A Walk to Remember", Landon Carter (Shane West) was your typical teenager trying to have fun with his life before going off to college.  He was in a popular gang and was often threatened with being expelled from school if he didn't fix his behavior.

Jaime Sullivan (Mandy Moore) was the Christian daughter of a preacher, and a rejected person at school.

These two kidos just happened to end up together when Landon (who was sentenced to community service for drinking achohol)  needs help with his school-play lines.  Jaime agrees to help him and Landon's life is changed forever.

If you can look past the opening scene and couple instances of bad language, you will see an excellent movie that is definitely worth watching.

The ending will break your heart (guaranteed)!

Please, please, please comment!!!
(but if you've seen this movie, don't say anything that will spoil the ending for someone who hasn't seen it)
Thanks...more posts coming soon!

The Update

Hey guys, here's my update...

Spanish is review, review, review.  Mrs. Garay has given us a 60-verbs quiz to wake up our brains, hehe.

Biology is running fairly smoothly.  The collecting, pressing, and mounting of flowers and tree leaves is lots of fun.  Looking through a microscope at tiny threads was not fun (mainly because they looked like black hairy snakes when magnified 100 times).

Geography and Geometry just started last week.  I'm taking them online with potter's school...one is at 8am on Thursday morning...and one is at 11:30am on Thursday morning...haha, I'm like completely brainwashed by lunchtime because I've been listening to non-visible teachers talk to me through speakers for 3 hours.

Rhetoric is very...dense.  Mrs. Hempel is giving us a ton of information for us to take in during the first couple weeks of class (not to mention we have to read some stuff each week out of a huge, black, textbook that says CLASSICAL RHETORIC FOR THE MODERN STUDENT on it in blue letters).  How frighteningly close to college level is that!!!  Mrs. Hempel is, however, a very good teacher, obviously because she has her master's degree in communication. lol

Violin Ensemble is going quite well.  My new full-size violin has a very nice tone.  I'm pretty content with this tiny portion of my schedule.

Kids N' Dogs club is just getting on board.  We had a meeting last night (I'm the secretary so I read the minutes despite my sore throat).  After the meeting we had snacks, yay, and played Do You Love Your Neighbor using those chairs that slide backwards ten feet whenever you sit down in them.  I have to say though that game is the best when played with a zillion 8th-graders (because then it gets really really awkward...and funny).  I can't wait for dog training to start up again :D

I WANT TO LEARN HOW TO DRIVE A CAR!!!!!  I just needed to say that :D

My First Love

I LOVE JESUS CHRIST SOOOO MUCH AND I WANT TO PROCLAIM HIS NAME AND WHAT HE'S DONE FOR ME TO EVERYONE IN THE WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD!!!!!

I ALSO LOVE THIS SONG :D

Verse 1
My first love is a blazing fire
I feel his powerful love in me
For He has kindled a flame of passion
And I will let it grow in me
And in the night I will sing your praise, my love
And in the morning I will seek your face, my love

Chorus
And like a child I will dance in your presence
Let the joy of heaven pour down on me
I still remember the first day I met you
And I don't ever want to lose that fire, my first love

Verse 2
My first love is a rushing river
A waterfall that will never cease
And in the torrent of tears and laughter
I feel a healing power released
And I will draw from your well of life, my love
And in your Grace I'll be satisfied, my love

Verse 3
Restore the years of the church's slumber
Revive the fire that has grown dim
Renew the love of those first encounters
That we may become alive again
And we will rise like the dawn through the earth
Until the trumpet announces your return!!!

Crazy Wednesday

I have now experienced the wednesday of the school year and it was like CRAZY FUN...and exhausting at the same time.

Try getting up for Spanish at 8:30am...then sitting in study hall with nothing to do except listen to your i-pod...then having a lot of painful fun at dance class...then going home...then going to the church for violin ensemble...then going home again...then going back to the church because you left your tuner there...then going to Sarahann's house to pick up your Geometry book...then going to the grocery store and buying donuts...then going to buy McDonalds to eat a hamburger...and...then...finally...going ...home...once...again.

It was EPIC FUN...hehe :D  My mother is AMAZING

Happy Homework Everyone!

Meeting Mrs. Ellis

BUM...BUM...BUMMMMM
The school year has officially begun and it starts with...biology...with Mrs. Ellis...at 8 o'clock am.  Haha.  I was soooo tired when my dad woke me up at 6:30 this morning.  I was so tired I wasn't even fully conscious until 7:15 am.  Biology with Mrs. Ellis (who I have actually never seen before) was pretty awesome and I was sad that it only lasted an hour-and-a-half.  We talked about...THE RULES OF CLASS...and...WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF YOU DON'T TURN IN YOUR TESTS ON TIME...and other stuff.  We also ventured outside to collect botany specimens and returned inside to identify them.  Just by the way Mrs. Ellis runs her class, I can tell why she's my brother's favorite teacher (and he doesn't have many).  I just LOVE biology hehe.

First Post!!!

Hey Everybody,
I'm so excited that I have my own blog now! What do you guys think? I just want to start off by saying that God is AMAZING and he has, in his grace, brought me back to him through the Worthy10 Youth Retreat. I can tell that the Holy Spirit is working in me to conform me to the image of Jesus Christ. It was the evening after I had gotten home from the Worthy10 Youth Retreat.  I was preparing to go to dog training...and I couldn't find Sandy's dog blanket! I suddenly thought I should pray and ask the Holy Spirit where the dog blanket was.  So I did and then felt that I should go look in the laundry room.  I immediately found it buried under a pile of dirty clothes.  Now I'm a stubborn rebel, a sinner not worthy of God's grace, a dust speck compared to Him and yet...God put his Holy Spirit in me to find something as insignificant as a dog blanket! That right there...deserves the title of EPIC WIN.
