Accidentally Went Crazy

So yesterday I went to Starbucks with my friend to have a one-on-one bible study.  So far, I've only had the Strawberries and Cream Soy Frappe, but that is a cold drink.  I decided to get something warm and bought a Classic Caffe Mocha.  Oh, little did I know...  My friend got a Vanilla Latte and we sat down.  I know I said it was a bible study, but it didn't exactly...go...the way we, uh...expected.  We started talking about stuff (trust me you don't want to know) and got really crazy from all the caffeine.  Halfway through my drink, I went and asked the waitress what was in mine.  She said the following:

Oh, It's a combination of hot chocolate, regular coffee with caffeine, espresso, and whipped cream.

Just think about that for a moment.  Hot chocolate contains sugar and caffeine.  Regular coffee contains a lot of caffeine.  Espresso contains a TON of caffeine.  I just totally drank a triple caffeinated drink BY ACCIDENT.  It was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  My friend and I were sitting there giggling and laughing about this and that for an hour straight.  By the time it was time to leave, we had gone insane and were both really hyper and jumpy.  I never really knew the real power of Starbucks until yesterday.  Next time...I'm getting decaf coffee so we can actually have a productive bible study.

Today, I came home totally hyped up from Zumba class and immediately raided the bag of chocolate chips that was on the kitchen counter.  I hadn't even put my backpack down and I was like CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  My thoughts?  The effect of the Caffe Mocha hasn't exactly worn off yet...

Hey, I just noticed something.  Two of my posts this month have the word crazy in them.  Huh.  I guess my life is just really crazy right now.  Yayayayayayayayay!!!
Have an amazing day!  :D  :D  :D

A Living Miracle

Yesterday we performed Walk by Faith from ACTS for the 10:31 youth group!!!  It went really well and we remembered all the last minute motions and stuff, yayayay!  Yesterday wasn't all about excitement though.  Those of you who were at the meeting last night know that Mr. Brewer gave a very powerful message on drugs and alcohol and why they don't honor God.  Frankly, I don't even know why the government is even considering of legalizing marijuana!  My positive guess is that they want to reduce crime in the country by acknowledging the personal rights of teenagers to drink and smoke.  My negative guess is that they want to mutilate and destroy the minds of America's teenage population so they can find the percentage of smart kids (which are the only ones who make it into politics anyway.)  Yep.  That's my relatively raw view right now.  I KNOW that whoever is reading this right now has an opinion!!!  Please comment!!!

At the meeting, an older woman and her daughter, whose name was Lea, spoke about their experience with drugs.  Apparently, Lea had an experience where she was smoking marijuana and was offered the opportunity to try heroine.  She did and had a nearly fatal reaction to it.  Even though she didn't die, Lea's experience left her paralyzed from the neck down.  When Lea's mom talked about their hope for the day when Jesus is coming back, I had tears in my eyes.  At that moment, I couldn't remember the last time that I had thought about the reality of that day.  It broke my heart.  Matthew 13:32-33...
"But concerning that day or hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor hte Son, but only hte Father.  Be on guard, keep awake.  For you do not know when the time will come."
The Lord used Lea to help me to see beyond the pleasure of the moment.  After the message, I had a chance to speak briefly with this incredible young girl and tell her how much I appreciated her willingness to share her story with our youth group.  She was in a wheelchair and couldn't move her arms or legs, but she definitely was alive and well.  Her mom said that after the accident, Lea had recovered the ability to speak fairly quickly.  Because of this, she was able to share the story of God' s grace in her life to others, as well as talk with me.  Wow, that girl was nothing short of a living miracle.  I really hope to see her again!

The Night Becomes Day

IT'S OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The world's not ending.  I'm speaking hypothetically...you know, about the natural human phenomena to interpret daytime vs. nighttime and respond accordingly.  My body threw this phenomena off this week though.  I stayed up till 4:30 in the morning finishing my math and reading and american literature essays and stuff.  My fingers feel exhausted now, even as I type.  By the grace of God, I survived today.  I managed not to die in Spanish class and even chatted gaily with my friends during lunchtime...WAIT JUST A HOT MINUTE?  Are you seriously saying that you stayed up till 4:30am and felt more or less AWAKE at school?!?!?!?!?!  Um...yeah.  Have you ever gotten that weird feeling that can't be described, and can be translated as something along the lines of "I'm so exhausted that I'm hyper?"  That's what I was feeling during lunchtime.  I talked relentlessly and shifted around the room like I was a planet orbiting the sun.  Then I found Julia and we walked around the church singing stuff in harmony.  It was awesome and I still felt so tired that I was hyper.

Also, I was called in to ACTS rehearsal today as a Background Vocalist (BGV) candidate!!!!!!!!!  When I got there, I hung out with the thorns while the guys sung and edited their awesome, manly song with Mrs. Cook.  I don't feel like elaborating until it's closer to showtime.  SUSPENSE.  Then we rehearsed our parts for Sovereign Lord, which is a slow, emotional song that I looooove sooooo much.  It talks about the believers crying out to God for strength and grace to keep on preaching his Word in the face of persecution.  After a separated rehearsal, all the parts, bass to soprano, came together and went through an hour and a half long workshop.  My soprano part was fairly high, up in the E's and F's, but it sounded beautiful against the teners and altos.  Then I came home and crashed.  Fun times :)

Tonight, the night will become night and I will sleep.  Daytime is so over-rated.

Crazy Jukebox

These last few weeks, I've been a TOTAL music person.  I've edited and rearranged my grooveshark at least a zillion times as I experimented with the best combination of playlists.  I also betrayed my family by listening to Justin Bieber songs.  However, I don't listen to them because I think he's hot.  No, I simply like his songs because he's a talented singer (Yes Andrew, I know you don't agree with me because of all the synthesized music).  On the other hand, Justin didn't exactly write songs that appeal to the guy population of the world.  That's probably why its mostly girls at his concerts.  Unfortunately, I have a habit of singing all my new songs for three weeks straight before moving on to something else.  Whether its Starfield or Demi Lovato or Justin Bieber, I WILL sing anything and everything until its not stuck in my brain anymore.

My little sister's response to this week's singing phase...

"ANNA, WHY DO YOU HAVE TO SING JUSTIN BIEBER ALL THE TIME?  HE SUCKS!  SERIOUSLY, YOU'RE LIKE THE TOTAL JUKEBOX OF THE UNIVERSE.

Lolz, my little sister is halarious.  When I'm there, she reprimands me for my recreational singing, but she really doesn't mean it.  I know this because I can hear her imitating my singing from the stairwell.  She wants to be like me sooooooo bad.  Sometimes I need the Lord's help to put up with her, but most of the time...its really cute having a miniature version of myself.  What she said though, its actually true.  I really do sing all the time, and sometimes I just can't stop.  Here are some of my favorite artists right now...

I am usually not a fan of country, but for some reason I absolutely love Rascal Flatts.  They have a nice mix of many of my favorite styles.

Josh Groban.  He's just...how do I say this?  Completely amazing and amazing and did I mention amazing?!??!?!?!  His voice is absolutely phenomenal and ALL of his songs make me cry.

Anthem Lights is a new band that Stephen introduced me too.  They're Christian and I looooove their songs.  Also they're British!!!!  Personally, I don't have a clue why British singers are so adorable.

Crystal Lewis is one of my favorite Christian, female singers.  Many of her songs are slow and touching, but my entire family are fans of her fast ones.  She has a knack for exceptionally groovy songs.

Just a heads up.  I will probably be moving over to tumblr very soon, and I don't know if I'm still gonna keep this blog open after that.  We'll see what happens.  See ya later!!!
